Lecturer in Gerontology | University of Southampton PhD, CPsychol, SFHEA, fCMgr | WHO Special Advisor
I am a Lecturer in Gerontology at the University of Southampton, where I lead the Hearing and Ageing Research (HeAR) Group in the Centre for Research on Ageing. My research specialises in hearing health prevention and interventions to improve quality of life for older people, exploring our collective responsibility to support their wellbeing and dignity in later life.
As a WHO Special Advisor and Consultant, I actively contribute to shaping global hearing health policy. My pioneering research has directly influenced policy changes, including providing evidence to RNID that contributed to the historic reversal of NHS hearing aid restrictions, protecting access for over 5 million older adults in the UK.
